Lets see here

Let's see here, I'm really tired of not being able to watch a news channel without being bombarded with either liberal or conservative bias. It's very simple. I turn on the news to find out what is happening in this world. However, this is not possible nowadays because you either have to watch foxnews, which is clearly biased towards the right or cnn or msnbc which is biased toward the left. Now I don't want to deal with either of them to be honest with you. Msnbc is off my list completely because they don't report news, they report where Obama's footsteps have taken him today or where his dog went to the bathroom in the yard. That leaves CNN and FoxNews. Now I have watched plenty of both of these channels, and it's quite funny about how different they are. You can watch one station and then turn to the other and think you are in a different country. Fox news seems to focus on negative things or scaretactics, whereas CNN feels like telling the country everything is perfect, when in reality it is not. So there in lies another issue. Do I want to be uneccesarily alarmed? or uneccesarily optimistic? From what I have watched however, I believe that Fox actually reports more to what is considered reality than CNN. It isn't a big difference but it's noticable. And that is all. I'll see you next time, stock market.

Winter

Let's see here: Ya know what? The winter season is fun for about the first two weeks. Now don't get me wrong, it's not fun like normal fun, it's fun like that kind of fun that is only fun because it is different, not because it is actually fun. Hmm, that was a very clear explanation, don't think I could've done better. Anybody who tries to honestly tell me that they truly love winter more than any other season of the year are, well, either insane or flat out lying in order to try to be "different or exciting/exotic".

Don't get me wrong, I used to love winter as a kid because of its wonderful possibilities/activities. The possibility that school could be cancelled was great. Didn't see that happening in the Fall or Spring. Sure sledding and snowball fights were fun, however you can only have so many of those before they become boring. Therefore, as a child the only reason anyone likes winter is because of the possibility of personal gain. Be it in terms of not having to go to school, or recieving gifts during Christmas.

As an adult, this possibility of personal gain has all but disappeared. Not to mention that, but now it has actually become a hassle due to excessive snow making it difficult and annoying to drive much of the time. Oh, and the sub-freezing temperatures are oh so refreshing about a month into winter aren't they? I know that when i wake up in the morning I cannot wait to get outside to get my morning exercise of window scraping underway.

I understand that some people love the way that snow looks and even may enjoy winter because that is when their hobbies take place (skiing, snowboarding, sitting in hot tubs, etc.) however this is not an appropriate reason to love winter as a physical being. Nobody likes getting cold, at least I don't think they do. Actually, I'm probably wrong.

Now I'll get to the point of why I'm writing this......I am tired of being teased by winter. For the last week it was around 30 and now today its about 45 and tomorrow it will be 50. Ok, well that's nice maybe I'll get to go lay by the pool by Friday. NOPE. It will be 30 again by then. Bascially what I'm saying is that winter is the worst season. If it would stay consistent until spring then I wouldn't have even thought about this and that would be fine with me. Oh well, welcome to the Midwest in 2009. Must be global climate change, amirite?
